Greetings Local Fungal Enthusiasts,
It has been a long, dry, fall, but hopefully the coming rains will perk up our local mushrooms. For the first local foray this season, we will check out what is happening in the vicinity of Marshall Fields.
The foray will be a good opportunity for beginners to become familiar with local habitats. This area allows for collecting and has some nice mixed forests, redwoods, pine, and Douglas fir.
It is early in the season so there might not be large fruitings, but the area has the potential to produce a variety of edibles including boletes, candy caps, chanterelles, honey mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, hericium, etc., plus plenty of other interesting fungus.
If you are interested in joining the foray, please follow this link https://goo.gl/forms/yxokfamxzvYJXET23 to sign up and you will receive an email in a few days with more details. If you have further questions or if you have any trouble with the form, please contact <http://ffsc.us/e?q=dT9iMmd1SxpebnAgWEcsDBBkZE1jZjk-3D_596>.
