2017 Nama Northwoods Foray (Cable, Wisconsin) (by Katherine Elvin/Dan Tischler)

This years NAMA foray was held in Cable, Wisconsin in the Northwoods.   3 of us attended from FFSC (Katherine Elvin, Dan Tischler and David Rust).   The majority of the folks were from the Great Lakes region of WI, MI, and MN.

The woods were amazing and the "curse of No mushrooms" did not rear its ugly head.   We filled tables and tables of specimens for the id tables to keep the mycologists and their students busy.  I believe we had over 500+ species for those they managed to go through.   They were fighting the wind which was determined to blow most of the specimens to the ground.

I was too busy hunting mushrooms to attend the various programs.   But attended the evening presentations after dinner.   This was my first foray and I had a really good time.   I met lots of new interesting folks from this region and am looking forward to attending others.
