Albion II Foray, Mendocino Coast

? WHEN: 25-27, January 2013
? WHERE: 34100 Albion Street Albion, CA 95410

The Albion II foray to Mendocino County offers a great opportunity to spend the weekend at the lovely Albion Field Station. We always have a wonderful time. This second foray of the season offers forays for a variety of fungal species, including black trumpets. For our new members this is an opportunity to socialize with a wide array of members and see some great mushroom habitat.
The cost is $55 per person for the lodging (private cabin) and dining/kitchen facilities. Albion has a large commercial kitchen that we all share for meal preparations. There are also several cabins with kitchens available. Note: cabins with kitchens require a separate agreement to secure kitchen utensils (utensils missing from cabin kitchens will be billed to renter). Note: Attendees participate in group clean-up throughout the weekend (opening and closing, kitchen cleanup, etc.).
Arrival set for Friday afternoon and check out Sunday morning. For those that want to come up earlier you can call the Albion office at (707) 937-5440 and make your reservation with Will Cook. He may be able to put early arrivers in their weekend cabin assignments so they don’t have to move on Friday.
Remember that you will need to bring bedding, towels, toiletries and food including a dish to share at the potluck on Saturday evening. NOTE: NO PETS! And we are not supposed to bring wine or beer on to the facilities. If you want more information about the field station you can access their web site at <http://ffsc.us/e?q=WGdTR0QmVGVqLx1ybB1tOFZE_596>. Of course, bring your collecting gear, raingear, footwear and layered clothing for all possible weather experiences. And, don’t forget your dehydrators. The cabins ALL have bathrooms and heaters since their renovation and they are very nice. ). Note: Attendees participate in group clean-up throughout the weekend (opening and closing, kitchen cleanup, etc.).
