Kids art activities at Fungus Fair

Mushroom fun for all ages awaits in the Kids Room: open Saturday and Sunday 10:00 – 4:00. There will be opportunities to use all the senses to explore the world of mycology. Observe mushrooms as they are found in nature in our kid friendly environment. Enjoy the creative process of designing mushroom inspired art while learning about fascinating fungi.

Projects are appropriate for all ages and completed works are yours to keep! Set up includes creating personal designs for mushroom pot dyeing, 3 D water color painting, button art, rubber stamping, clay workshop, face painting, child friendly reference books, a scavenger hunt, and questions answered by a giant mushroom!

We have two new volunteers this year: Jessica Hendry has been a classroom teacher for the past 5 years as a Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher.  She is passionate about providing unique learning experience to children, and is looking forward to seeing what the kids can take away from their experiences in our Kid's Room. Michelle Iris is very passionate about child development and enjoys working as a nanny and a preschool teacher. She has lived in Santa Cruz since she was 11 years old and has a grown son who was born and raised in this beautiful town.  She enjoys setting up arts and crafts for kids, as well as taking kids on adventures to the beautiful beaches and parks in our area. Michelle is delighted to be part of the team running the "kid's room" this year and I look forward to meeting new people and learning more about our community interests!!

Debbie Johnson has been doing her ever popular and inspired silk dyeing at the fair since forever!

Join us Saturday and Sunday 10:00 – 4:00 in Room 7.
