We had hoped that our General Meetings would be back to their regular, in person format by now, but due to the current level of covid transmission and out of an abundance of caution, we will continue with the Zoom video format for another month. Future meetings may be held virtually, in person, or in a hybrid format allowing attendees the option of participating virtually through a live video stream.

Before our final speaker of the season, we will be having our biennial election of ministers. Here is a list of the ministers up for election. Any dues paying FFSC member can vote and can also volunteer or be nominated as a minister. (Please note that the Prime Minister and Vice Prime Minister positions require having served previously as a board member. The other positions can be held by any FFSC member.) Back by popular demand, we are conducting our second virtual mushroom ID class using Zoom. The class is aimed at students who have a serious interest in learning how to identify mushrooms and are willing to put in the time and effort to learn. We are planning to hold the class over two separate sessions, the first on Thursday, February 25th from 7-8 pm and the second on Monday, March 1st from 7-9 pm.

This year’s mushroom identification class will be different from those in the past due to the restrictions placed upon us by the Covid-19 pandemic. We are going to try conducting the class using Zoom. The class is aimed at students who have a serious interest in learning how to identify mushrooms and are willing to put in the time and effort to learn.
